Seven fixed resistors are supplied - the 1, 2, 3 and 10 kilohm resistors allow for simple ratio potential dividers, whilst the 680 and 820 ohm values give more complex ratios and allow for mixed ohm and kilohm examples. If desired, other resistor values can be introduced by using bare 0.25W resistors mounted in the miniature sockets on the base circuit board.
Resistors are all 1% tolerance so measured voltages are in very convincing agreement with calculated values.
Panels with a 5k variable resistor, thermistor, LDR, switch and potentiometer allow construction of potential dividers with variable output.
Circuits are built by screw mounting the component panels to the main circuit board, giving a quick but very robust method of construction. The built circuit closely matches the circuit diagram.
Two capacitor panels (330uF and 1000uF) allow investigation of R-C charging circuits.
An LED panel allows for practical LED - resistor design examples.
